Kim Yong Ho

Kim Yong Ho presents Dual Narratives, which lyrically associates the inner worlds of symbolic figures with their historic significance. By juxtaposing frontal portraits of artists with images that indirectly deliver their stories, Kim metaphorically explores the duality of human identity, suggesting that a person's inner and outer selves cannot be united but still coexist. A work in the series featuring choreographer Ahn Eun-mi reinterprets the identity of Korean dance and her artistic worldview through the symbol of the plum blossom, revealing her unique energy and freedom through photography. In another work, the interplay of unseen gazes between video artist Nam June Paik and the back of the Pensive Bodhisattva statue reminds viewers of Paik's iconic work TV Buddha. Kim primarily uses the Canon EOS R5 mirrorless camera.
